A printer is disclosed in which a character forming print head is disposed on a carriage which pivots about a central point to describe an arcuate path, adjacent to which is situated an arcuate platen. The media to be marked upon conforms to the arcuate shape of the platen. The print head oscillates or reciprocates from one end of the arc to the other, and back. For returning the printing mechanism 7 to the initial position, a (returnable) 19 is provided, for example, a helicoidal one, which is twisted, when the printer is typing, the mechanic, the measurement is turned and counterclockwise. Then at the end of printing, the clutch 5 is opened, and the spring 19 returns the carriage 6 with the printing mechanism 7 to its original position, turning them clockwise. The exile recoil forces are absorbed by the damper device 23. For free rotation of the balanced system, shaft 1 is mounted in antifriction bearings 24. The indicator wheel 15 is rigidly attached to one end of the shaft 1, to the other end of which a printing mechanism is attached through a gear to eliminate the difference in rotational speeds. The proposed device allows to print the same value in one, two or three positions or, for example, during normal operation, printing is performed in two positions L and B each time, and in position C only when the document on which is printed set to print area. The indicator wheel is provided with markings in the form of slots 18 and notch 22, the disposition of which corresponds to the angles of installation of the printing positions on the arc frame. The effectiveness of the invention lies in the possibility of sequential printing on different recording means, while the device is compact, has small dimensions and high reliability.
